Dobryna (Poland)

The folklore ensemble "Dobryna" was formed in Bialystok, Poland, by a group of young traditional music lovers. The ensemble performs authentic Ukrainian folklore from the Podlachia region and other parts of Ukraine, in a traditional singing style. They sing the old songs in Ukrainian, in the dialect of the Podlachia region.

The ensemble's constant desire to broaden its horizons and deepen its knowledge encourages it to take part in open (or 'white') traditional singing workshops led by specialists, as well as various excursions.

"Dobryna" continues the tradition of performing ceremonial and lyrical songs. Every year they take a traditional Christmas star and visit locals in the villages of Podlachia and other places in Poland and Ukraine. "Dobryna" takes part in numerous festivals, competitions, and charity concerts and appears on television programmes.
