Memories from the International Folklore Festival "Skamba skamba kankliai" 2026

Although the festival has wrapped up, it leaves us with unforgettable memories! Over the final six days of May, Vilnius came alive with traditional music, dance, crafts, and folklore performances from across Lithuania and around the world.

This year’s festival was even more special as it ran longer than usual, giving us the wonderful opportunity to enjoy an expanded program filled with even more heartfelt encounters, lively performances, and rich cultural events.

This year, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the unique living traditions of four foreign countries—we welcomed special guests from Ukraine, Estonia, Romania, and Portugal, who each enriched the festival with their unique heritage, sounds, and vibrant colours.

We are thankful to all—our inspiring performers, passionate spectators, dedicated volunteers, and loving partners who together keep this continuous living tradition alive.
