The programme of the 52nd International folklore festival “Skamba skamba kankliai” is now available! Explore it here.

This year’s festival once again invites to experience the richness of Lithuanian and international folk traditions through concerts, participatory events, workshops, and night-time dance gatherings.

Over the festival weekend, Bernardine Garden will become the heart of the celebration, hosting a folk art and culinary heritage fair, craft and games spaces for all ages, and concerts by folklore ensembles from across Lithuania and abroad. Special attention is given to children and youth, with dedicated performances showcasing the youngest bearers of tradition.

Traditional singing holds a central place in this year’s programme, with special concerts celebrating Lithuanian Folk Song Year and the 200th anniversary of the first published collection of Lithuanian folk songs. Audiences will also have the opportunity to encounter authentic tradition bearers – singers and musicians who have inherited local repertoires and performance styles directly from their communities.

The festival welcomes international guest artists from Ukraine, Serbia, Poland, Ireland, Belarus, Estonia, and Latvia, presenting both traditional and contemporary interpretations of folk music.

Evening dance events, workshops, and the Ethnic Culture Night will invite to actively take part in music, dance, and shared celebration. Join us and experience living folk traditions from Lithuania and beyond!
